Withdrawal Policy

Kashf Journal of Linguistics recognizes that authors may need to withdraw their manuscripts for various reasons during the publication process. This policy outlines the procedures and conditions for manuscript withdrawal at different stages.

Pre-Review Withdrawal:

  • Before submission: Authors can withdraw their manuscripts at any time before submitting them to the journal. There are no fees associated with pre-submission withdrawal.
  • After submission but before review: Authors can withdraw their manuscripts after submission but before the review process begins. They should notify the editorial office immediately via email, clearly stating the reason for withdrawal. The editorial team will acknowledge the request and remove the manuscript from the system.

Post-Review Withdrawal:

  • During review: If a manuscript is already under review, withdrawal is discouraged. However, authors may request withdrawal if they encounter unforeseen circumstances that necessitate it. They should submit a written request to the editor-in-chief, explaining the reason for withdrawal and providing any relevant documentation. The editor-in-chief will consider the request in consultation with the reviewers and make a decision based on the specific circumstances. Withdrawal may be granted if the reviewers have not invested significant time in the review process and the reason for withdrawal is deemed valid.
  • After acceptance: Once a manuscript has been accepted for publication, withdrawal is generally not permitted. However, in exceptional circumstances, such as ethical concerns or discovery of significant errors, authors may request withdrawal with the written permission of the editor-in-chief. The editor-in-chief will carefully consider the request and may consult with the reviewers and editorial board before making a decision. If withdrawal is granted, the manuscript will be removed from the publication queue and any associated fees may be applicable.

Fees:

  • No fees are associated with pre-submission withdrawal.
  • If a manuscript is withdrawn after the review process has begun, but before acceptance, the author may be charged a partial processing fee to cover the costs incurred during the review stage.
  • Withdrawal after acceptance will generally result in full publication fees being charged, as the manuscript has been slotted for publication and may have caused disruptions to the editorial workflow.

Alternative Options:

  • Instead of withdrawing a manuscript, authors may consider revising their work based on reviewer feedback or addressing any concerns raised by the editor. This allows them to improve their manuscript and potentially secure publication in Kashf Journal of Linguistics.
  • Authors can also submit their revised manuscript to another journal if they believe it is a better fit for their work.

Transparency:

  • Kashf Journal of Linguistics is committed to transparency and will inform all reviewers and editors involved in the manuscript if it is withdrawn.
  • The journal reserves the right to decline withdrawal requests without justification, especially if the request is considered unfair or disruptive to the publication process.
